Designs for Cabinets and Interactives, 2002

Mystus was contracted to create the designs for a set of new exhibit cabinets that included three simple interactive exhibit components. Mystus was hired since, as a developer and fabricator of interactive exhibits, we could bring the specific expertise required for interactives into the design process. Consideration for issues such as access to equipment, ventilation, wiring runs etc. are a natural part of our work. A further element of the design was to include a strategy for fabricating the units over time as funding became available. Mystus created an elegant, functional and modular plan for 5 interlinking cabinets. As part of the process, and in addition to the fabrication drawings, renderings were created to assist with the fundraising process. The interactive components include a quiz with changeable questions, a back lit map, and a low tech tethered artifact display.
